Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese martial art that means loosely translated Ultimate Boxing or Ultimate Grand Fist. Most classes today focus on the health benefits of this art. Stress reduction, improved balance, better general health and attitude are common themes of students when asked why they study Tai Chi. Lu Style Tai Chi is a combined form with elements of Yang, Wu, Pa-Kua and Hsing-i incorporated into a 72 move style developed by Grand Master Lu Hung-Bin. Master Lu also taught a 64 move Yang style - you will find a link to more information on the Links page. Master Lu also taught weapons sets within these internal arts styles. Additionally Master Lu was renowned as a Bagua player who has is named engraved on the tomb stone of the first Baguazhang teacher to indicate the linage is unbroken through Master Lu. Xingyiquan is the third element in Master Lu's internal arts empty hand routines. In his interview "Written in Stone" he discusses why all three must be studied by the serious student of internal martial arts.
