THE FIVE ANIMAL FROLICS

The oldest written exercise program for preventive medicine.

This is an ancient exercise based on the natural movements and postures of five different animals, introduced by Hua Tou 110-207 AD. Kenneth S. Cohen is the best know practitioner teacher of this art brought it to the USA and has been responsible for teaching many teachers.

The animal forms include the Crane, Bear, Monkey, Deer, and Tiger.

This is a perfect introduction to Tai Chi. In the Animal Frolics, we learn how to move and position our bodies to increase our balance and well being. The Animal Frolics is used to provide a pathway to mediation through control of the breath. In this same way, breath control, we learn to relax and accomplish a sense of well being.

An excellent short form for stress control, that can be done in individual units (animals) or as a set.

Short easy to learn, can be adapted to any physical challenge.

This set is known as Qi gong. Qi Gong is a practice to strengthen ones internal organs and ones internal power or life force know in Chinese as Qi.

We will learn to use these exercises to stretch, warm up and prepare ourselves to learn Tai Chi Chuan.
